WHAT IS TITLE III?

Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) has been awarded a Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant by the U. S. Department of Education. The College is now responsible for implementing the project and conducting the grant activity consistent with College policies and procedures,  Federal program,  fiscal regulations and guidelines applicable to the Title Strengthening Institutions Program.

Southside Virginia Community College is presenting Connect4Success. The Connect4Success team is committed to supporting the academic achievement of all students at SVCC. To achieve its strategic goals, the team has implemented two activities directly related to its goals.

Activity 1: Enhance Support for First-Year Student Success

• First-Year Advising
• Success Coaching
• Career Exploration and Advising
• Financial Literacy & Empowerment
• Faculty Advisor Professional Development

Activity 2: Improve Virtual Student Services & Data Systems for Student Success

• Data dashboard integrated into Canvas to provide real-time views of our students’ grades and assignments in each course to support intentional advising
