The Career Studies Certificate designed to provide a broad-based knowledge of current and future advances in the Emergency Medical Services field. It will prepare students for an exciting position in emergency medical services as a volunteer or career member, while enhancing career hiring and advancement opportunities for existing career personnel. This program is designed to qualify students for securing a job in any of the multiple opportunities that exist within the emergency medical services field.

Public Service Technology - Emergency Medical Services

The major in Emergency Medical Services is designed to prepare selected individuals to be members of the emergency medical services team providing direct patient care in a variety of emergency medical service agency. Upon successful completion of the program the student will be able to perform the duties of an emergency service provider at the level of EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate and/or EMT-Paramedic competences; be eligible to for the National Registry of EMT practical examinations; acknowledge the need for continued learning and self-development.
