Power Line Worker

Enjoy working outdoors? Looking for a career that’s challenging and rewarding? Help ensure reliable electricity for your community by taking the first step to become a power line worker. Electric utility line workers install, remove, maintain and repair both low– and high-voltage distribution lines and associated equipment and facilities. Using curriculum from the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research), the Power Line Worker Program being offered through Southside Virginia Community College covers the fundamental aspects of power line work, including the most crucial element of all: safety. During this 11-week program you’ll receive both classroom and hands-on training.

National Electric Code
