Leslie Cline is accustomed to getting good reviews from her students at Southside Virginia Community College’s Christanna Campus; recently, she also received a great review from the Richmond Times Dispatch on Richmond.com for her direction of a stage play now running at CAT Theatre in Henrico County, Virginia.
Cline is Instructor, of Theatre, Speech and Humanities at SVCC and recently received a great critique in Theater Review by Special Correspondent Tony Farrell for the play, ‘Book of Days.’
He wrote “Book of Days opens with its excellent 12-member cast spilling from every corner of the theater into plain, dark stage space. At a full 2 ½ hours, “Book of Days” takes its time revealing its many layers but this production’s rich variety of acting styles and vocal tones, carefully shaped by Cline, ultimately merging into powerful testimony about personal willingness to face—or turn away from—the truth."
The critic also complimented Cline on her excellent casting and directorial skills.
Cline also appeared on Virginia This Morning on WTVR Channel 6 in promotion of the play which is part of the Acts of Faith contribution from CAT Theater. The play was written by Lanford Wilson.
The play is ongoing through February 7, 2015 at the CAT Theatre at 319 N. Wilkinson Road in Henrico.
Besides teaching at SVCC, Cline coordinates the Honors Program and is advisor to the Christanna Campus Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She received her BA in Theatre with Honors from Converse College and her MFA in Acting from the University of South Carolina. She joined Southside Virginia Community College in 2007.
