Jeff Grant, welding instructor, reviewed the various types of welding techniques and answered questions about the program. Mr. Grant stressed the importance of safety and wearing protective equipment while welding. Mr. Grant has 34 years of welding experience and prides himself in the level of skill that his students receive upon completion of the program.  Students learn tig, mig, and straight  welding techniques.

“We are pleased with the outstanding interest in  our welding certificate program.  We had over 50 people to attend our welding open house” elated Debra Smiley, Coordinator of LCAKC.

“With the economy in a downturn, now is the time for workers to improve their job skills in order to be more employable in the job market” said Smiley.  The open house was a kickoff of the upcoming Spring semester which starts on January 7th.

Attendees also enjoyed appetizing refreshments.
