VCCS Student Leadership Conference

Fifteen SVCC students and three advisors attended the VCCS Student Leadership Conference recently. The 2015 conference theme was "The Power of You". 

Fifteen students and three advisors attended the VCCS Student Leadership ConferenceStudents attended sessions about the importance of involvement in the college community and the world. Students also had the opportunity to participate in the STOP HUNGER NOW campaign while at the conference. The Stop Hunger Now program packed meals to feed 20,000 people.

Other concurrent sessions included presentations on social media, random acts of kindness, leadership styles, dining savvy, salsa lessons, and a student organization round table.

When students were not in concurrent sessions they mingled with over 400 other VCCS students and heard several keynote speakers who talked about the importance of servant leadership and finding your true passion. 

Saturday night SVCC was spotlighted during the Community Showcase Mash-Up for several community outreach projects. SVCC was highlighted for projects sponsored by Make It Happen, Empowered Women's Organization, and Student Ambassadors. Sandra Bacon attended as an advisor and we appreciate her support.
