First grade students and their teachers from Charlotte County visited Southside Virginia Community College’s John H. Daniel Campus on December 3, 2009.
The students were greeted by President John J. Cavan and Provost Al Roberts. They had a chance for some basketball in the gym, learned about the automotive program, criminal justice, computers, biology, nursing and toured the college.
In the photos, Lisa Back (faculty member) shows off her Biology lab and all the neat stuff and Dr. John J. Cavan gets an idea from a first grader as to what a College President’s job duties might entail.
Students are urged to stay in school and make plans to attend SVCC in the future (or another college).
