Alumni Spotlight - Sharon Adams

Sharon Adams graduated from Greensville County High School with a diploma and as a Nurse Aide. She earned her Practical Nursing license a short time later and was employed by Greensville Memorial Hospital. In an effort to advance and improve her employability, Sharon made the decision to enter Southside Virginia Community College's Registered Nursing program.

Student "Help Desk"

During this "Welcome Back Week" our Student Ambassadors will have a Help Desk Table available during the day in the instructional building on the Daniel Campus and in the main hallway on the Christanna campus. The ambassadors are available to give you general directions, light refreshments and motivation.

Alumni Spotlight - Holly Elliott

Holly Elliott is a full-time employee, student and mom from Buffalo Junction, Virginia. She started taking classes through Southside Virginia Community College as a dual-enrollment student while in high school in Halifax County. She graduated from SVCC in the spring of 2011 with an Associate Degree in Business Administration.

Governor’s Grant & Virginia’s Electric Co-ops Help Launch New Power Line Worker Program

Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) early in 2016 will begin offering a training program designed to address the projected critical shortage of skilled electric utility line workers. This program, which will involve 11 weeks of intensive classroom and hands-on training, will ready its graduates for employment as apprentice line workers at electric utilities.
