SVCC to Face Top Ranked Team in NJCAA

SVCC sophomore guard Anthony Harris buried three treys in the second half and the Southside Virginia Community College men’s basketball team won for the sixth time in the last seven games with a 77-75 win over the College of Southern Maryland in LaPlata, Maryland on Saturday afternoon.

SVCC and CSM went to the halftime break tied at 35 but the local team got some big buckets from Chris Jackson, JC Stewart and Harris, who finished with 21 points, down the stretch to seal the win.

SVCC will hit the road on Saturday to play Davidson County, the No. 1 ranked team in the NJCAA D3 national polls in a 2 p.m. tilt.
