A faculty member in the Southside Virginia Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program is a finalist in the 2014 Virginia March of Dimes Virginia Nurse of the Year Awards Program. Felicia Omick, Associate Professor of Nursing, has been named a finalist in the program.
Over 325 nurses were nominated, with nearly 230 of them submitting applications for awards consideration. Now, 121 nurse FINALISTS remain, with the 21 TOP NURSES to receive AWARDS at a Gala to be held on November 1.
Omick was born in Richmond and raised in Hopewell. She received her BSN from Medical College of Virginia and her MSN from Old Dominion University. She was previously employed as a LPN instructor at Southside Virginia Community College and was the Director of PACU/Admissions at MCV Outpatient.
She resides in Lawrenceville and teaches on the Christanna Campus of SVCC.
