Scholarship Established At SVCC
The Southside Virginia Community College Foundation recently announced the establishment of the Tom and Sandra Tanner Advanced Life Support (ALS) Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a Mecklenburg County high school graduate who is an active volunteer in one of the county’s public safety areas such as the rescue squad or fire department. Recipients will be enrolled in the College’s Associate of Applied Science degree program in Emergency Medical Services.
This scholarship was established in honor of Jimmy Burch and in memory of Bobby Burch, two pioneers in the field of Emergency Medical Services in the Southside Virginia area.
