Tabitha Poore grew up in Lunenburg County and graduated from Central High School before attending Southside Virginia Community College, from where she earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Business Administration.
After graduating from SVCC, Tabitha transferred to the University of Phoenix and completed a Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting. Once she completed her B.S., Tabitha continued her education by earning a Master of Science in Accounting from Liberty University and then becoming a Certified Public Accountant. She hopes to obtain her Certified Management Accountant credential in the near future.
Of her decision to attend SVCC, Tabitha says, "In my opinion, SVCC is a great stepping stone for obtaining educational goals. It provides an affordable education while giving younger students a chance to grow as individuals and gain a better understanding of what career fields they would like to explore. Additionally, I would encourage anyone who has an interest in furthering their education to consider SVCC, regardless of their age. Not only is SVCC able to offer affordable education, they also provide flexible schedules that can work with almost any type of employment. This flexibility allows people in almost any situation to be able to attend courses and still maintain employment that is necessary to provide for themselves and/or their families."
Tabitha is currently a Vice President/Controller at Benchmark Community Bank in Kenbridge, VA.
