In July, Shirley was offered a Phlebotomist position at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. This job provides Shirley a fantastic opportunity to expand her expertise.
At the hospital, Shirley serves the Lab, as well as the ER, Nursery, Labor & Delivery, ICU, Cardiac, Pre-Op, and Infusion Units. Shirley believes that Phlebotomy is an important skill and can enhance the quality of a CNA’s career. She has been invited by her SVCC Instructor, Minnie Stephens, to present to current Phlebotomy students. Shirley provides a real-life example of the successful future our students can achieve.
