Alumni Spotlight: Scott Lewis

Scott Lewis graduated from Nottoway High School in 1993 and graduated from SVCC in 1996 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management.  While at SVCC, he was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  Scott transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University, from where he graduated in 1998, double majoring in Finance and Economics. 

Scott LewisIn 2002, Scott joined Benchmark Community Bank (BCB) and played a lead role in opening and getting the BCB Blackstone branch established.  Scott is currently Assistant Vice-President and Blackstone Branch Manager.  In this position, he enjoys assisting area residents with their deposit and borrowing needs. 

A native of Nottoway, Scott is very involved with his community.  He coaches three teams as a part of the Crewe-Burkeville Youth Recreation Association and serves as Treasurer of Downtown Blackstone Inc. (DBi)., and is on its Economic Committee.  DBi, an accredited Virginia Main Street Program, is a non-profit organization established in 2007 to revitalize the Town of Blackstone. 

Scott has been a volunteer with the Nottoway Relay for Life and Boy Scouts and is involved with the Blackstone Chamber of Commerce.  He and his wife, Rhonda Roark (also a graduate of Nottoway High School and SVCC), call Nottoway County home.  Scott and Rhonda have four children.
