Alumni Spotlight - LaTonya Franklin

SVCC Alumni Spotlight
Ms. FranklinLaTonya Franklin, from Emporia, graduated from Greensville County High School. She earned two degrees from Southside Virginia Community College: an Associate of Applied Science in Human Services and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in General Studies/ Human Services, both of which she completed with high honors.

A member of Phi Theta Kappa and elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges twice, LaTonya managed to fit her studies into her busy schedule as a single mother. After completing her degrees at SVCC, she transferred to Old Dominion University, from where she will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services in May 2016. LaTonya is a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success.

LaTonya observes,"SVCC has been a tremendous part of my success and it has inspired not only me, but my family as well. My oldest son began attending SVCC at the Southside Virginia Education Center for the January 2016 semester"!
