Alumni Spotlight - Gloria Parham

SVCC Alumni Spotlight

Ms. ParhamGloria Oliver Parham grew up in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Cleveland High School. In August 2011, she returned to college and attended Southside Virginia Community College. She graduated with honors with two Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Administration of Justice in May 2013.

Since graduating from SVCC, Gloria transferred to Virginia State University to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources. She graduated with honors in December 2015.

Gloria is currently working as a Benefits Specialist for the HumanKind Financial Opportunity Center in Richmond, Virginia. She is continuing her studies to pursue her Master's Degree in Divinity at the Samuel H. Dewitt School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

Gloria advises students and others, "Having a mindset to learn is a gift; having the ability to learn is a skill; and your eagerness to learn is your choice. Remember, the adventure of life is a lifelong learning process. So never stop learning, because life never stops teaching."
