Eric Whitmore graduated from Southside Virginia Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Drafting and Design Technology (1977). He grew up in Crewe (Nottoway County) and graduated from Nottoway Senior High School. After SVCC, he joined the Virginia State Highway Department in Richmond as a drafter and helped develop designs for highways and bridges.
In 1981, Eric decided to continue his degree program and enrolled in Old Dominion University. He graduated in May 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. In the same month, he joined Texas Instruments (TI) located in Dallas, Texas, where he continues working today.
Eric has been an employee at TI for over 31 years. In the first half of his career he was assigned numerous projects to design and construct cleanrooms for semiconductor manufacturing both in the US and abroad. Recently, he has been Facilities Director for TI’s US manufacturing sites. Today, Eric is Director of Facilities at TI’s international semiconductor manufacturing sites.
Eric is married and has one son.
