A Brunswick County native, Angela Jackson is a Brunswick Senior High School graduate who earned her Associate of Applied Science in Office Systems Technology from Southside Virginia Community College.
Angela chose SVCC to start her college journey for its small classes and family atmosphere, making it an easy transition from high school. She also points to the helpful and caring faculty and staff, noting that her advisor, Henrietta Coleman, was an integral part in making sure she was academically prepared for a transfer to a four year school.
After graduating from SVCC, Angela transferred to Saint Paul’s College and completed a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. She continued to further her education by earning a Master of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Angela is currently the Administrative Assistant for the V.P. of Finance and Administration and an adjunct instructor at SVCC. Of her decision to work at SVCC she says, “The caring atmosphere continues. Because of this, there was always a reason to stop by and visit faculty/staff who always remembered your name. I, however, decided to apply for a job instead of just visiting. Each day I strive to show students the same caring ways that were shown to me.”
Angela is one of the reasons SVCC continues to be a great college to work for.
