Terri Milroy is on the road again. The Assistant Professor of History, Humanities and Political Science at Southside Virginia Community College has, since coming to SVCC in 2006, traveled 600-700 miles per week going from school to school; now living in Richmond, that has increased to nearly 1000 miles per week.

Students from Southside Virginia Community College’s Calculus II class launched a class-project rocket on April 5th From Battlefield Park in Culpeper. SVCC's Brent Richey started this project with students in the GSSV STEM program while they were in Calculus 1 and 2.
Commencement for Southside Virginia Community College will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 on the John H. Daniel Campus in Keysville at 9:30 a.m. Dr. Glenn DuBois, the Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System, is the guest speaker for the event.
On April 17th, the Daniel Campus will host the Mobile Mammography Van of Centra Health of Lynchburg. The Mobil Mammography Unit is designed to make it easier for women to have their annual mammograms by bringing the healthcare team to them. Centra’s radiology technologists will be performing mammograms from approximately 7:30 am – 2:00 pm, by appointment. The exam should take approximately 15 minutes.
Southside Virginia Community College held an open house for local high schools on March 28 at the John H. Daniel campus in Keysville. Students were given information on admissions, academic programs, athletics, financial aid and scholarships. Tours were given by SVCC student ambassadors where local high school seniors were able visit classes, talk to faculty and current college students.

The Southside Virginia Community College men’s basketball team earned its third straight Virginia Community College System basketball title after topping Thomas Nelson CC 86-68 on Sunday afternoon in the title game at Brunswick High School.
The win improved SVCC to 16-7 on the season.
It was the fifth VCCS title for SVCC in the past six years.
SVCC will open play on Thursday in the USA National Prep Championships in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
