Students Use Their STEM Skills

The John H. Daniel Campus of Southside Virginia Community College hosted approximately 85 students from Chase City Elementary School, Clarksville Elementary School, and Bluestone Middle School the week of June 6-9, 2016 [Top Photo]. Meanwhile, the Alberta Campus of Southside Virginia Community College hosted approximately 20 students from Brunswick High School the week of June 20-23, 2016 [Bottom Photo].

New Student Orientation

The countdown is on to New Student Orientation! The Student Services Team is excited to offer our incoming students' orientation on each Main campus, which will take place on Wednesday, July 13th on the Christanna Campus and Friday, July 15th on the John H. Daniel Campus!

Great Book Giveaway

Kick your summer reading off with the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center’s (SVHEC) Great Book Giveaway. The SVHEC will host the giveaway Monday, June 20th through Friday, June 24th in the lobby of the 820 Bruce Street building in downtown South Boston.

Alumni Spotlight - Stephanie Sanders

Due to her father's occupation, Stephanie Sanders' family moved several times during the course of her childhood, but spent most of her youth in Wisconsin. Stephanie successfully completed her GED and enrolled in Southside Virginia Community College. She received a Career Studies Certificate in Gaming Technology and earned her Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology from SVCC.

Alumni Spotlight - Caitlin Crowder

Caitlin Crowder grew up in South Hill and graduated from Park View High School. She earned her Associate degree in Registered Nursing from Southside Virginia Community College. Before becoming a Registered Nurse, Caitlin made such a good impression while doing clinical time for an Introduction to Health Professions course, that she was offered her first job in the healthcare field as an Emergency Department Technician at Community Memorial Healthcenter (now VCU-CMH).
