Mobile Mammography - Daniel Campus
Category: SVCC Events
Date: July 14, 2015 - 07:30

Have you or the women in your life had an annual mammogram yet? If not, then you do not need to take a day off and drive to the doctor's office. You can have your mammogram done right here on campus!

On July 14th, the Daniel Campus will host the Mobile Mammography Van of Centra Health of Lynchburg. The Mobile Mammography Unit is designed to make it easier for women to have their annual mammograms by bringing the healthcare team to them. Centra's radiology technologists will be performing mammograms from approximately 7:30 am - 2:00 pm, by appointment. The exam should take approximately 15 minutes.

If you are a woman who is 40 or over and would like to schedule a mammogram, please let me know. If you are under 40 and have a referral from your PCP, then you also may participate. For those who are interested, please email me and I can provide further information.

Thankfully, there are slots available to those who do not have health insurance. This program can provide free mammograms to these women. This is a great opportunity for uninsured or under-insured women in our community to receive much needed breast cancer screening at no cost.
