ITE 115 Challenge Exam

The ITE 115 challenge exam will be given on the Christanna Campus in Alberta on Tuesday, August 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Lab B-46.  On the Daniel Campus, it will be in room 108B on Wednesday August 24th from 1:30 until 3:30.

Required Score to Pass:   80% or above

Other Info:

  • Microsoft certification in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2010 or 2013 will be accepted for respective test sections.  Copy of certification required.
  • The SAM 2013 Testout Code Access Key must be purchased prior to reporting for the exam.  It may be purchased from the college bookstore or online at http://www.cengagebrain.com/shop/isbn/9781285735054
  • Students must be program-placed at Southside Virginia Community College to receive credit by exam for ITE 115.  This testout is not available to itinerant students or high school students.  Dual-enrollment high school students requesting to take the testout exam must have approval of the Coordinator of Dual Enrollment. 
  • No grade is assigned for this course on the transcript.  Students receive 3 credits for successful completion of the testout exam.  Retakes are not allowed.  This is a one-time challenge exam. The course will not normally transfer to other colleges being that only credits are awarded and no grade.

Introduction to Drones

This is a Two day course. Classes will meet over a weekend from 6pm- 9pm on Friday and 10 am- 2pm on Saturday.

Are you curious about drones? You hear about themoften today. They come in all shapes and sizes. Do youfind it a bit complicated? Do you need help to learnto safely operate small recreational drones? They arefun and useful devices; however, it can be complicatedat first with regulations and deciding how to choose adrone. This course is for the absolute beginner or the intermediate recreational drone operator. This coursewill cover FAA rules and regulations as well as the aspectsof operating a recreational drone. This two‐day coursewill include both classroom and hands‐on flying! You willbecome familiar with one of the most popular technologies today.

 

Course material:
