On Saturday, April 4, the students in Martha Reed’s Anatomy and Physiology and Biology Classes will be hosting a “Stop Hunger Now” event.
“Stop Hunger Now” is a volunteer-based international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world. Help us reach our goal to package 10,152+ meals.
Working together we can create a world without hunger. We will be packaging nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring, vitamins and minerals. This is a fun hands-on way to make a difference and impact the lives of those suffering from hunger.
Each meal costs $0.29. We needed to raise $2944 for the event. We have already raised $1564, so we currently need $1380.
Volunteers are needed to help package the meals. We will begin at 9:00 a.m. The students will arrive at 8:00 a.m. to unload the truck and set up. The event will be held in the Workforce Building Room 108.
Monetary donations are welcome to help us pay for the meals.
Southside Virginia Community College is hosting “Career Day 2015” where potential job seekers can meet local employers on Wednesday, April 1st in the Workforce Development Center located on the John H. Daniel Campus in Keysville, VA.
The event is open to all job seekers from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
