This course covers food safety training from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. A necessity for all restaurant owners, food service managers, cooks and line staff . Satisfies the "Person in charge" requirement of the Virginia State Health Department. ServSafe is recognized and accepted by more federal, state and local jurisdictions than any other food safety training program. ServSafe leads the way in providing the restaurant and food service industry with an up-to-date, comprehensive food safety training and certification program.

ACLS Certification (12-hour course; two days)

This course is designed to teach the student how to manage the first 10 minutes of an adult patient in cardiac arrest. This class will cover dysrhythmias, pharmacology, and electrical therapy in dealing with cardiac patients. Upon successful completion of this class, students will receive the Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Certification. This course is designed for individuals in the community and advanced healthcare providers such as doctors, nurses, and paramedics.

Must attend both dates.

Basic Contractor Business Licensing Course

Topics include: Starting a Business in Virginia, Laws and Regulations, Contractor Limits and Classifications, Virginia State Statutes Relating to Contractors, Statement of Consumer Protections, The Licensing Process, Obtaining the Contract, Customer Service and New Home Warranties, Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), Underground Utilities, Insurance, Virginia Taxes, Labor Law, Erosion and Sediment Control, Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH), and Liens.

The cost of the eight-hour class is $199.

Graduate Testing - Daniel Campus

testing graphicAll students graduating from SVCC must participate in an assessment of student learning. As stated in the 2014 SVCC Catalog, prospective graduates are required to complete an assessment for the purpose of monitoring college programs. Your score will not affect your graduation; however, you will not graduate if you do not participate. This assessment requires that you participate to the best of your ability.

This year the graduate assessment will be (TER) Test of Everyday Reasoning. We have scheduled an open lab in order to accommodate everyone. This means you will not need to miss any of your classes, and you can complete the assessment as required. There is no need to register.

The Graduation Assessment Test will be given in room 22 at the John H. Daniel Campus in Keysville on Friday, July 25th from 9:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please allow one hour to complete the assessment. No appointment is needed as you may come during the hours listed previously.

testing graphicAll students graduating from SVCC must participate in an assessment of student learning. The assessment is designed to measure programs at the college.  As stated in the 2014 SVCC Catalog, prospective graduates are required to complete assessment testing.

Your score will not affect your graduation; however you will not graduate if you do not participate.  It is simply required that you participate to the best of your ability.

This year the graduate assessment will be Test of Everyday Reasoning (TER). We are scheduling an open lab for two full days in order to accommodate everyone.

The graduate assessment test will take place in the Instructional Building in room C-16.  

You do not need an appointment; just walk in between the scheduled times.
