School Codes -
unique codes assigned by the Department of Education for schools participating in federal student aid programs. Students can enter these codes on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to indicate which postsecondary schools they want to receive their financial application results.
PIN Application - Apply for an electronic signature. Each person signing the FAFSA must have his or her on PIN number, and is the only one legally allowed to use that PIN to sign. Note: you may now choose your own PIN number and use it immediately to sign the FAFSA, however, it will take 72 hours to clear the Social Security Administration check before it can be used for any other purpose.

EFC Calculations - The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is the amount a family can be expected to contribute
toward a student’s college costs. Financial aid administrators (FAAs) determine an applicant’s
need for federal student aid from the U.S. Department of Education (the Department) and other
sources of assistance by subtracting the EFC from the student’s cost of attendance (COA).
