Tobacco Scholarships Available

Scholarships continue to be available for tobacco growers or their immediate family members, tobacco quota holders or their immediate family members and tobacco workers to attend Southside Virginia Community College.

Southside Virginia Community College received funding from the Virginia Tobacco Commission in order to assist the college in outreach educational programs for the tobacco-producing region of Southside Virginia.

The scholarships will pay for tuition and fees and textbooks as approved by the SVCC Foundation, Inc., the administrator of the program for the college. An eligible student must be a resident of Virginia as defined by SVCC, and must reside within the SVCC service area, which includes the counties of Brunswick, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Greensville, Halifax, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Prince Edward and the city of Emporia. Students must be program placed with SVCC and complete a financial aid form (FAFSA) along with the SVCC Foundation scholarship application.
